WATERFALL HIKING

While the mountains of North Carolina are noted for spectacular waterfalls, Beech has it's share of interesting water features. Beech Creek, Pond Creek and Buckeye Creek all have their share of waterfalls.

On our hiking trails, Lower Pond Creek Trail is the best for waterfalls. Almost the entire length of this hike has falls. This trail is through Beech Mountain's old growth forest and a very special place. You need to exercise caution on this trail especially around the water.

Smoketree trail has a beautiful waterfall at the picnic area, midway through the trail.

Upper Pond Creek Trail also boasts a number of small falls, especially on the Greenbriar Road end of the trail.

There are others also. Check out the many waterfalls of Beech, but please exercise caution when walking close. Wet rocks can be slippery. Being safe when around the falls or along the trails is important. Good falls viewing!
